Ninety million school-aged girls are barred from a quality education or any education at all. Half a billion women are illiterate. As a result, the countries and communities in which these girls and women live remain severely impoverished, vulnerable to disease and armed conflict. The AUDACIA forum is a new model for ensuring every girl everywhere access to a quality education. The forum focuses on what works and makes for lasting change. It is an opportunity for individuals and organizations working to ensure the rights of girls to showcase the best of the practices in girls' education and also an opportunity to obtain financial and non-financial resources for those very same interventions.

Philanthropists, foundations, corporate citizens and social entrepreneurs are helping to underwrite the cost of AUDACIA and contribute to a cash award for the “Best of the Best” field organization.
